Four Points By Sheraton Nagoya, Chubu International Airport

Grateful to the Sheraton team near Nagoya Airport for their enthusiastic and direct approach in providing members with relevant upgrades and a great stay experience. The overall stay was fantastic, and I want to express my special thanks for the birthday wishes and related preparations, which made me feel truly cared for. It is evident that your team possesses a high level of hospitality towards Marriott members and approaches the arrival of members with a positive attitude. The attention to detail, with everything prepared in advance, is highly commendable and contributes significantly to the service and overall experience during the stay.

Nice, clean, quiet hotel and the location is good if you are catching a flight in the early morning. The hotel provides breakfast with a good variety of dishes too. Shuttle service to the airport is available. The shuttle bus operates every 15 min. If not, walking to the airport is possible too. The hotel is within walking distance to the airport.

I have stayed at all the hotels around the airport. In my opinion, this hotel is all on the top in terms of room size, cleanliness, and quietness and staff’s attentiveness. There is a shuttle bus to the airport.But you can walk there around 10min .(depends on your baggage)Then you can go to the restaurants and shops in the airport after checking in. A convenience store is also within walking distance. It’s notable that at the breakfast buffet in the restaurant on the 2nd floor, you can enjoy not only fresh salads, but also a typical Japanese breakfast as well as American one. There is also a happy hour in the evening at the restaurant. You can drink alcohol at half price with a hearty meal.

Stay here if you like your human rights violated. The Front Desk Manager doesn’t know the basics of the Hotel Business Law regulations in Japan. Demanding passports and residence cards of people who live in Japan, because they do not look like his definition of ‘Japanese’ is far below the global standards of a brand as big as Marriott. The law is simple - people who are non-residents of Japan, show ID, people who are residents DO NOT. That’s it. A quick google search will provide plenty of info on the subject. Even though it shows my address directly on the computer screen when checking in, I was still asked to present a passport. When I politely explained that I was a resident of Japan and was under no obligation to provide a passport, I was told it doesn’t matter, the manager wants ID from all foreign looking people. Then when I asked to speak to the manager directly, he refused and instead requested I show a residence card. Keep in mind, he still has no idea whether I am a Japanese national, the only thing he knows for sure is that I live in Japan. Finally, after another request to speak to him directly, he refused, and pushed his staff to get me checked in. It was uncomfortable, unprofessional, and something I do not expect from this company. If he believed in what he was doing, we could have had a conversation about the matter, but he instead stood back barking at his staff to push his message. I can’t say I have experienced this at other Marriott properties lately in Japan, so hopefully it was an individual issue and not a systemic one. Room was great, clean, nice view, and comfortable.
